|
snom technology AG, developer and
manufacturer of Voice-over-IP (VoIP) telephones, and pioneer in the
field of VoIP security, announced today that they will be hosting an
open roundtable discussion at the upcoming CeBIT 2008 show, on Wednesday, March 5th at 3:00 pm at snom’s booth, Hall 13, Booth D26.
snom will present its new "snom Hacker shootout"
program, which will bring together security partners, VoIP Communities
and experts within the industry.
The following VoIP security specialists will be addressing the
current problems facing the industry and answering audience questions:
- Mario Heiderich, Developer
- Peter Cox, CEO, UM-Labs Ltd
- Ahmar Ghaffar, Senior Developer (SIP Security), snom technology AG
- Hirosh Dabui, Senior Developer (embedded devices), snom technology AG
- Björn Schwarze, CEO, ADDIX Internet Service GmbH
Audio encryption (SRTP) and secure transport layer signalling (TLS)
is growing in demand for internal company phone calls. Tools to record
RTP audio data within a company network are generally available and
becoming increasingly simple to use, and VPN based telephony with
employees who work from their homes is no longer an unaffordable
expense.
Every year, new VoIP vulnerabilities are discovered and remedied.
These vulnerabilities should be fixed quickly and the public informed
appropriately. With its new “snom Hacker Shootout” program, snom
intends to develop closer contact with the VoIP communities, in an
effort to pass on their findings to existing security solution
partners. Through this program, snom will be able to initiate the
necessary steps for improvement in response to the concerns of the
industry.
